Random#4!! Tattoos! What's the REAL deal!

Tattoos. Most of us have them, some of us want them, some of us hate them. What ever your feeling is- they're going to be around no matter what. Question that boggles my mind; do my tattoos make me? Yes, I am a proud "tattoo owner", and I don't think the ink on my skin tells my life story, nor my personality as a whole. With the symbols I display, or the colors I present, a stranger still isn't capable to tell me who I am; both inside and out.

A tattoo is a simple way for one to express himself and remember the moment when, where and why the tattoo was done. Some people have 1 tattoo, 2 tattoos, 3 tattoos, or even 55 tattoos. With covering 75% of your body with ink, does that make you a "bad" person?

Now, I will be SO honest with you all. I'm a hypocrite when it comes to tattoos, also. Why get something that you will later regret? Then you want to get a "cover up" and just fuck up your body. So in that case I say....choose wisely!

Now, my love for tattoos. I love them! Being a woman, I admire sexiness! No, you will NEVER see "Black Sexy Bitch" or " [insert name here]'s Wife" tatted on my body. That's just something I'm not down for! Now, something sexy! Something you can cover up when need be, or show at the right moment ;). It's all about how you feel! Now, the process. Some like it, some LOVE it. I personally like it....as my tattoo artist talks to me, makes me laugh, we vibe out to music together, I forget about the pain-I enjoy it.

Well, after I went off on a tangent, as I always do....because I'm "Simply, Nye" and its MY show, MY blog. Okay, I'm done! Point is! Tattoos are art! Life is art! Put the two together and you have beautiful art! Live your life baby, do what makes you happy and just be yourself! Therefore, if you are [insert name here]'s wife....tatt it up! If you are a beautiful black bitch, go for it! Just prepare for the stares, snarls, lovers and haters. It shouldn't make you either way. On that note, I'm out-until next time!

So today, on this wonderful "summer isn't gone just YET" day, I saw many people sporting this beautiful color. While in ENG class, during free write…I decided to express it. I'm no crazy…I just love the color, and many people were looking stunning, today. Tell me what you think!

Purple is another DIVA in my eyes.

Random #4- NY Times....Bias??

This was an assignment for my MCA 101 class. I kinda took it on a 'journal, editorial' approach. Let's hope my professor likes it as much as I did! :) Enjoyy!


Shooting a glance at the NY Times, one will be happy to get worldwide news, game scores, and the entire 'deal' we have going on with this political revolution, all in one. When actually utilizing your eyes as a tour guide through this black and white trail, questions will boggle your mind. Let's focus on today's paper; Sept 8th, 2009. Stimulus-Assisted Schools Still Facing Crippling Cuts by Sam Dillon, clearly explicates what's going on within our educational system. Teachers are being fired, rehired, and receiving pay cuts. How bad could it get? Bad. With less teachers, less money to spend on educational issues, students are more likely to perform very poorly on exams. Dillon explains how teachers felt when they lost their job, and when they were called back for rehire…

"I'm just glad to be teaching," Ms. Smallwood said, "After the misery of losing your job, a pay cut is a piece of cake." As Ms. Smallwood stated, "a pay cut is a piece of cake." Notice her "conservative" comment before mentioning the glory of her lucky pay cut; "I'm, just glad to be teaching". How bias could you be? She simply wanted to draw an audience into her own sorrow, and feel a source of empathy. Teachers received a degree to teach, but do they really do it with a passion? Not all teachers are only in it for the money, of course. But, when getting a call about being rehired, does one really think about how much he loves teaching? Or is it simply the paycheck that's keeping the smile on his face? Let's think on a literal sense; money talks!

Random # 3. My other half.

9-4-8-1......well, 0-9. I definitely had to start this blog of with saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our WONDERFUL, BEY-UTIFUL, BEY-MAZING, DIVA!- Beyonce'!! Our lovely triple threat has turned 28 today. Hope you had a wonderful day, Bey! I know Mr. Carter treated you very well!! LOL- smiley face on that one!

Now. I'm here to talk about my best friend's blog. Scratch that, my other half! The woman who completes my MIND and SOUL. I came home, turned on my laptop, and rushed to it! (thejaidareneediaries.blogspot.com) And there is was!! The art her daggering words graced my computer screen. Wow. She NEVER ceases to amaze me. Can I share a secret with you all? Of course I can, this is my damn blog!! (Ahhh. Love being in charge! ;] )I honestly started my blog about 3 days ago because I knew it would goad her into starting her own. We've both talked about it, but never actually put our minds to it.

Now JaidaRenee. This woman can speak. This woman can write. She is an English major at LAGCC graduating with the class of 2010. Woot! Woot! She holds a 4.0 GPA and a part of PTK- one of world's well known Honor Society. And as you can see, I'm here to BRAG! I'm more than proud to be her best friend- so I have the right to brag! Random # 2. UGGS!

Alright! I knew I had to write this post when I glanced over and saw my black UGGS sitting in the corner. So, today it was about...75-80 degrees outside. And, I had on UGGS. I knew the weather, and I am highly aware it is still summer. But when I decided to get dressed this morning, I wanted to be comfortable. Just because some people in NYC feel others should not wear UGG boots in the summer does not mean I'm not going to wear mine. So, I'm on the bus and I receive a text from a number that isn't stored in my phone. To summarize the text- "LADIES PLEASE DO NOT WEAR UGGS IN 80 DEGREE WEATHER!! IT IS STILL SUMMER!!" I'm thinking this person is watching me, but he simply wanted to rant on what he saw on the beautiful streets of NYC. A girl wearing UGGS. So, i replied back, "funny thing is..I'm wearing UGGS as we speak." He writes back..."well those are your hot feet". And of course they are!! So pretty much, if I, or anyone else wants to wear UGGS in any degree weather, let us be!! It's our feet, if it bothers you SO much that you have to send a mass message to everyone in your phonebook, then I believe you have the problem. I was sure comfortable and happy in my UGGS on this beautiful summer day. I'll sure continue to wear them, too!
